GRIFFON SADDLE WOMENS INFORMATION

The PRO Griffon Saddle is designed for road cyclists who aren’t very flexible. Even within this realm, there is flexibility, as there are several versions. The Men’s version comes in Standard and Anatomic Fit (AF), with both carbon and stainless steel rails and three widths. The Women’s Griffon comes in AF only with the two rail choices and two widths.

The body flexibility that PRO thinks will work best with this seat is if you’re standing up and can’t reach down and touch your fingers to the ground. But this is just a general guideline; if you like gently curved saddles, you’ll like this.

The top is a smooth polyurethane with tiny dimples pressed through. This is a simple way to make the saddle a bit more grippy while still being smooth. There’s a pressure relief channel running the length of the saddle. The difference between the Standard and AF is the channel on the AF is deeper and cut out of the shell. EVA padding is used on all the versions, with a different padding profile for Men’s and Women’s saddles.

The saddle also comes in three widths, 132, 142, 152mm, which is the widest point of the saddle as measured from under the saddle. The Women’s saddle in two, 142 and 152. If you want a standard, then 142mm should be the default; it will work for most people. If you have a saddle and want a way to compare, measure your current saddle first to decide on width—measure the widest point from the bottom. If you keep on sliding forward, that’s an indication your current saddle could be too wide, so you’ll want the narrower one. If you find yourself falling over the back, then you might want wider.

As is PRO’s preference, there’s a generous distance between the rails and the saddle shell. This is for both comfort, harder for your legs to get pinched between the saddle and rails, and for ease of adjustment.

The Griffon, like many PRO saddles, has an integrated accessory mount in the back. It can work with PRO’s saddle accessories including: a fender, repair kit, and camera mount.

There are two rail options for the PRO Falcon, Carbon 7x9mm, and round 7x7mm Stainless Steel rails. As you can imagine with all these options, there are different weights. The 132mm Men’s AF version with Carbon rails weighs 188g. The narrowest Women’s version weighs 198g. The narrowest Men’s with Stainless rails weighs 220g for men and 231g for Women.
