    PF4630 BOTTOM BRACKET

This bottom bracket is when you have a PF30, BBright, or 386EVO shell frame and want to install a BB30 crankset into the frame. All have a 46mm inner diameter and smooth insides, though the widths vary from 68mm to 86mm. The crank has a 30mm diameter spindle.

This bottom bracket features nearly zero loss of power due to friction, thanks to the bearings. The bearings have super round, super smooth CeramicSpeed balls rolling on hardened-steel races. The Coated version has a metallic coating laid onto the races, making them even harder and smoother, resulting in longer life and lower drag. They come installed in cups.

    In The Box

    • 2 cups with bearings installed.

    • 2 1mm spacers.

    • 2 0.5mm spacers.

    • 2 dust covers.

    • O-ring.

    • Spacer tube.

    • CeramicSpeed All Round Grease.

    • Sticker sheet.

    TECHNICAL DATA

30mm thru-axle cranks are increasingly popular due to high stiffness and low weight. 46mm inner diameter bottom brackets are popular for the freedom they offer designer in building frames. Because of the variety of widths, the cups here extend into the shell and come with a telescoping spacer tube to further seal and stiffen the system.

The bottom bracket is already stiff thanks to hard ceramic bearings and hardened-steel races. Thanks to CeramicSpeed, it’s also nearly zero drag. Standard Bearings typically have frictional drag of 0.3-0.4 watts per set. That’s in the range of a 75% drag reduction versus conventional bb’s. The bearings last at least 3x longer than other bearings.

Change the grease for your rides. Race Day Grease, All Round, and Long Life are greases CS designed. The first is the least drag, the last is the most durable. All Round, in the middle, comes in road bearings.

    The Coated Advantage

CeramicSpeed’s coated products offer the ultimate gains in performance and longevity. Their unique coating features several attributes that improve the longevity of CeramicSpeed Bearings. The increased hardness of the races, combined with the smoothness of the CeramicSpeed Balls results in virtually no wear on the bearing.

The coating is a metallic layer, which is 75% harder than the hardened steel races. The coating is applied in a very thin and even layer of 3 microns (0,003 mm) on the entire surface of the bearing race. Both the inside and the outside are treated to achieve optimal results.

Within  CeramicSpeed's comprehensive R&D program, the special coating has been developed in cooperation with a European coating specialist. Applied to the bearing’s steel races, through an advanced process that ensures an even, smooth and homogeneous surface, the coating formula improves even further the high quality of CeramicSpeed Bearings.

Thanks to the coating’s high resistance to corrosion – even if the bearing is contaminated with degreaser, water or mud, the risk of bearing failure due to corrosion is negligible. We recommend choosing CeramicSpeed Coated Bearings for unmatched longevity and incredibly low friction.

    Maintenance of Coated Bearings

Coated Bearings are more resistant to lack of lubrication when it comes to wear and damage on the bearing. Nonetheless, this does not mean that the need for maintenance is eliminated. Just as we do with our standard bearings, we recommend to always lubricate the bearings with our special grease to achieve optimal performance in terms of low friction and longevity.

For all training and racing applications, we recommend the use of CeramicSpeed All-Round Grease. For the lowest friction possible, we recommend the use of our TT Grease. However, compared to the standard All-Round Grease, the TT Grease has a shortened lifetime and therefore, it requires more frequent application.
